Next up – Jeans
Obviously, a majority of people own and wear jeans regularly and they are probably a key piece of most peoples wardrobes whether you’re male, female, young, old – they are suitable for all.
The reason I’ve included them in this series is because I find it quite difficult to find a decent pair of jeans. You can probably pick up a pair of jeans in Primark for less than £10 but are they any good? On the other side of the scale, you could also spend £200 on a pair and maybe they don’t fit well, maybe the length isn’t good, it’s quite hard to find the right balance.
Most of my jeans are from Zara, Topshop or River Island. I probably have around 30 pairs or maybe even more than that actually, I’m not sure. I have enough anyway but I’ve had some of them for a long time. Luckily, my weight and shape hasn’t changed much in that space of time and I can still wear all of them, if I wanted to. As the trends change, like now with the Boyfriend style being popular, sometimes I consider picking up a new pair. Recently, River Island had what looked like a decent pair – The Eva Girlfriend Straight Crop Cigarette Jeans – I ordered them from ASOS. In the picture they looked like a light wash denim but when they arrived they were really dark and the shape was not at all flattering, baggy in the wrong places, they just weren’t right for me.
Last weekend, whilst out shopping with my Mum & Gran, we were browsing in Marks & Spencers. I came across a pair of Jeans that looked really good and had an expensive feel about them, I don’t know how to describe it. Put it this way – they certainly didn’t look like M&S Jeans! I took the size 6 into the changing room to see how they looked on. I was in there for ages in amazement at the shape and how well they fitted me. I couldn’t quite believe it. I would never have thought to look in M&S for jeans in terms of style and certainly not in terms of fit. They were perfect and it’s amazing how a good fitting pair of Jeans can totally change your confidence.
Although they’re boyfriend style, they are quite slim on the leg and I’ve turned up the bottom but for once that’s not because they’re too long, it’s just because I quite like them like that.
I also picked this top up in M&S – £8 in the sale
You can’t beat Jeans and a white T in my opinion – Simple yet Classic – perfect outfit combination!
